Making Progress Toward a Thriving, Resilient Future

The City of Encinitas has been protecting the environment and taking action on climate change for over a decade. From protecting water quality and managing coastal resources to installing renewable energy systems and offering green building incentives, the City is leading by example on climate action.

In 2020, the City adopted an interim update to its Climate Action Plan which includes specific strategies, CAP measures, supporting measures, and numeric goals designed to reduce the City's contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions. This website serves as a portal to explore the City’s progress on climate action. The site also serves as a way to learn how you can be part of the solution.

In January 2020, the City published its first comprehensive CAP Annual Monitoring Report, and subsequent reports are published annually. To see all the CAP Annual Reports published, follow this link.
